Build a Weekly Sales Report Template for Agency Founders

Generate a one-page weekly sales report template a founder can scan in under 3 minutes.

founderBeginner2–3 hrs per week + faster founder decisions
When to use
Use when you're a founder drowning in Slack threads and HubSpot dashboards but still don't know if your week was good or bad. Run this once to create a reusable template your sales lead fills in every Friday. It forces a 'what's the action?' close so the report drives decisions, not just reading.
The prompt
You are a sales ops lead at a digital marketing agency selling [SERVICES]. You report directly to the founder.
Agency: [AGENCY_NAME] — [SERVICES] | Reporting period: [REPORTING_PERIOD] | Audience: founder (busy, scans in 3 min) | KPIs: [KPIS] | Data sources: [DATA_SOURCES]
Design a one-page weekly sales report TEMPLATE the sales lead will fill in every Friday. The template should let a founder answer in 60 seconds: are we on track, what changed, what needs my decision.

- One page max; no walls of data
- Must include a 'What's the action?' closing block with 1–3 founder decisions needed
- Skim-readable in
Output the template as markdown with these sections: (1) Headline (2 sentences max), (2) Numbers vs target (small table: KPI | Target | Actual | Delta), (3) Pipeline movement (3 bullets), (4) Risks & blockers (3 bullets), (5) What's the action? (founder decisions). For each section include a 1-line prompt telling the filler WHAT to write.
Variables
  • [AGENCY_NAME] — Your agency name
  • [SERVICES] — Service lines sold, e.g. SEO retainers, paid media, web design
  • [REPORTING_PERIOD] — Date range covered, e.g. 'Week of May 20'
  • [KPIS] — 3–5 KPIs the founder cares about, e.g. SQLs, proposals out, MRR booked
  • [DATA_SOURCES] — CRM and tools the data comes from, e.g. HubSpot, Stripe, Close
Example input
AGENCY_NAME: Northwind Digital | SERVICES: SEO retainers + paid media | REPORTING_PERIOD: Week of May 20 | KPIS: SQLs, proposals sent, MRR booked, pipeline coverage | DATA_SOURCES: HubSpot, Stripe
Example output
# Northwind Digital — Weekly Sales Report

**Headline:** _[2 sentences: were we on track this week, and the single most important thing that changed]_

## Numbers vs target
| KPI | Target | Actual | Delta |
|---|---|---|---|
| SQLs | 8 | __ | __ |
| Proposals sent | 4 | __ | __ |
| MRR booked | $12k | __ | __ |
| Pipeline coverage | 3x | __ | __ |

## Pipeline movement
- _Biggest deal that advanced (name, stage, $)_
- _Biggest deal that slipped (name, why)_
- _New logo entering pipeline worth flagging_

## Risks & blockers
- _Anything threatening this month's MRR target_
- _Capacity / delivery risk if we close X_
- _Channel risk (e.g., paid leads down)_

## What's the action?
1. _Decision needed from founder_
2. _Intro / asset request_
3. _Resource ask_
Pro tips
  • Lock the KPI table — same 4–5 metrics every week so the founder builds pattern recognition.
  • Force the 'Headline' to be written LAST, after the data is in. It's the most valuable line on the page.
  • If 'What's the action?' is ever empty, the report shouldn't be sent — schedule a 1:1 instead.
